San Jose Contemporary New Construction

This contemporary custom home in San Jose was built from the ground up by Degan Construction. The single-story design pairs clean roof lines with warm redwood siding, black-framed windows and a wide paver driveway. At the center is an open kitchen with a waterfall quartz island, dark wood-grain flat-panel cabinetry and glass pendant lights. At the back, a folding glass wall opens the living space to a wide wood deck and covered patio. The project also includes a detached accessory dwelling unit (ADU) with its own entry, kitchen and bath, finished in matching redwood siding. San Jose actively supports ADUs through its permitting process, which makes a home-plus-ADU build a practical option on many lots.
